Go UTES!

Just supporting her team!

Up the canyon...

My family needed to get up the canyon before it was too cold, too late. I was so excited because it had been way too long since we had done a good old fashioned weenie and mallow roast and Tanner Flats was the perfect spot to do just that. We were steps away from the most stunning views and waterfall. The kids took several trips over to play and explore and then would come and do the same around our campfire. It was so beautiful up there and I did my best to think like the kids and soak it all in!
These boys...it's like Stand By Me 2014...
This a Clara about to do her squishy face-it's so dang cute and I am determined to get it on camera one day!
My parents just go with the flow-anything we want to do, they come along happily!
These two were pretending up a storm finding a spot for their "house" and  whatever else!
Capri took me to the waterfall by way of the boulders. She kept telling me that she was just fine climbing on her own and that she knew the way. I believed her! Here she is at one of our favorite viewpoints:
Made it to the waterfall!
The girls!
S'mores time!
Clara and Sasha...destined to be great friends!

Fiesta!

It was pretty epic if I do say so myself. The fiesta was held in our compound backyard and included over 60 people, a taco truck, amazing decor, and even dress-ups. Cheri, Jane Durham and I all planned the event and it turned out to be an awesome success! Everyone came ready to eat the amazing food and hang out...
I wish I had taken some more pictures of the set up, especially with the lights on at night, but check out our sweet decor!

The Hosts...

 Some of my favorite girls...
Just as we were finishing up with the dinner and starting with the churros, the weather was getting pretty ominous. Everyone stepped up and took down tables and chairs. Thank goodness it was a false alarm and everyone stuck around for another couple hours!

Karoline's 1st day of Preschool (Year 2 that is!)

Karoline is back to South Jordan Montessori for another great year of preschool. She couldn't wait to get back as Roman and Capri were already in school and I was not cutting it as far as entertainment goes. I could sense she was a little nervous at first, but as soon as we were done taking pictures, her and London were off and as excited as could be. Love this school so much!
Taking pictures on the front porch-a must for the 1st day of school.

These two have been getting along so much better lately. Glad they have each other!

Everything else that happened in August...

August was busy, but a great month of summer and fun!
My mom, Cheri and I planned a shower for my cousin Alexa and it was so much fun! I loved the theme, "You Are My Sunshine" and the decor was to die for!

The guest of honor...
Cheri, my mom, me, my cousin Trisha, my aunt Julie, and my cousin Katee:
I love the sisterly love...
We took the paddle boards out yet again and it was our best evening yet! We had a huge group of friends and family including the Fords, Ross', Curtis' (almost all of them!), Brooks', Canons, my aunt Julie and my cousin Katee. We spent hours on the beach, on the lake, and then on the lawn for actual races and handstand contests. It's great to act like kids once in awhile!
Tucker's parents took us to see Wicked! I hadn't seen it since its first year on tour so it was so much fun to see it all again! To make it that much better, we had box seats!
Annelise, Cberi and I took the kids to the Church History Museum. They loved the kids section, especially where they could dress up and dance.
Daybreak put on their annual Fizz Fest and it was a great night out! The kids got their faces painted for free, we listened to an awesome 80's band, Roman climbed the rock wall, and the girls colored the sidewalks with chalk.

Just Clara being cute...
The last day of summer. The twins started school the next morning so we had to say farewell to the magical summer!
I have been taking these two on runs after the twins go to school. I bundle them up, grab some snacks, load them in Big Old Red, and away we go. We live in the perfect running neighborhood with plenty of trails and the lake so I have to take advantage! The girls love it as well and Clara will even fall asleep sometimes.

Labor Day Weekend in St. George

Labor Day weekend was the perfect excuse for a vacation down at the condo. We made it a family affair with the Curtis', Fords, and my parents. The weekend was spent swimming, hiking, going to Swig, and playing some tennis. Same old, same old...just the way we like it!

We explored a new hike up Snow Canyon along the Butterfly Trail. About halfway in, you come across the Butterfly Rock and you can see why...

This was no easy hike, especially for the little ones. They did great, however, and made it all the way!
The trail led us to the lava caves! Nice and cool, but smelled like bat pee. The kids didn't mind, of course, and loved climbing around the cave opening...

And now for some tennis. The kids are getting better and better! Tucker is a great coach and takes the time to hit balls over and over with them...
All lined up...
Love this group of buddies!

2 in the 2nd Grade

Roman and Capri started 2nd Grade today, August 20th. It is a big year for them considering this will be the first time they aren't in the same class. I struggled with this decision for some time, but when each of them found out they had a friend in their class, they wanted to stick to different classes. Even though I knew it would be slightly more complicated homework wise, I felt good about them being more independent. I think it was a good choice because they have loved their classes and teachers so far!
Love these pictures. Roman and Capri getting their picture taken and poor little Koko in the window, sad to not be included...
...she perked right up when the twins took another picture with her in it!
And away they go!

Curtis Family Pictures

Elizabeth stepped up, yet again, to take our family pictures. We went up to Alta and took them in the stunningly beautiful Albion Basin...
I don't know what Roman would do without these boys. They have so much fun together and I see them staying close for a very long time...
Moms and their babies...
And Dads with their girls...
My darling Clara, it doesn't get any cuter, does it?!
Such lovely ladies...
And such handsome men...
Mi Familia...
Our best attempt at Grandma and Grandpa with their 10 grandkids...
And the grand finale...
Love this family of mine!
