More Valentine Pics...

I couldn't get these pictures on before so they are a little late for my last post. Check out Capri's pig tails, pretty darn cute if you ask me...

Happy Valentine's!

Due to the holiday of love, I decided to create a post and dedicate it to the love of my life, my husband. Tucker is absolutely everything I need in a man, husband and father. He is incredibly intelligent, extremely ambitious and works as hard as possible to support his family. This is one of the major attributes that attracted me to him in the beginning. Tucker is hilarious and makes me laugh all the time. I will never forget the first time we hung out and he had just gotten back from a terrible date. It was totally worth it for the rest of us because we got to hear all about it and we were laughing hysterically. Have I mentioned what a great cook Tucker is? I found this to be the case seven years ago on this very day. My girlfriends and I were going to be in for the night, more of a Single Awareness Day than a Valentine's Day. Luckily for us, however, Tucker cooked a fantastic italian meal with appetizers and everything-yummy! More important than food is the fact that Tucker is such a loving husband. He tells me that I am beautiful every day (which I definitely don't deserve most of the time), he won't leave without a kiss and a "I love you," and he wants so much to make me happy. Lastly, what a wonderful father he is to Roman and Capri. I cannot describe the bond he has with these little ones. He is always willing to play, take them on walks and do all of the rough-and-tumble games that the twins love so much. He just wishes he could see them more! How did I get so lucky? I couldn't have asked for a better man! I love you sweetheart!

A day in the life of Roman and Capri

Before Roman and Capri have a major change in their routine, I thought I should jot it down to remember how life was for these two at this age.
*Wake up at 5:00am for their first feeding, but thank goodness they usually go back to sleep until 6:30am.
*Play with mommy and daddy until breakfast at 7:00am.
-Breakfast consists of a container of baby food (some kind of fruit) mixed with rice cereal or oatmeal, cheerios and a piece of toast or waffle. This amount of food takes at least 30 minutes to get down and another 15 minutes to clean up!
*Play some more until 9:00am.
-Playtime includes getting read to while sitting in their new chairs (where as before they would just grab at the books and not a whole lot of reading was done!), singing songs, patty-cake, peek-a-boo, and lots of toys, crawling and cruising along the couches.
*Take bottles just before naptime.
*Get to sleep around 9:30 and nap for an hour to two hours. Time for mom to get her workout and shower in for the day.
*Wake up as happy as can be-one of my favorite moments of the day!
*11:30am-time to eat again!
-Lunch consists of a vegetable (again mixed with rice or oatmeal), cheese cubes, mandarin oranges or bananas (depending if they need to be loosened up or stopped up!).
*We finally get around to getting these kids dressed around noon. I know that sounds a bit lazy, but their clothes are in great shape!
*Time to play outside!
-This has to be their favorite time of day. Roman and Capri love to explore the great outdoors and they are usually exploring with their mouth-yuck! It definitely keeps mom on her toes as she chases two babies with grass, leaves and who knows whatever else in their mouths. We also have done bubbles time outside and they are quite fascinated by these magical spheres.
*They take another bottle while on a walk around 2:00pm. I lean the jogging stroller back so they are nice and comfy which get them right and ready for another nap.
*Nap-time from 2:30pm until about 4:00pm. Mom gets her chores done and may even check her blog.
*Once again, I get to see their cute smiling faces as they await for me to come and get them out of their cribs.
*Playtime or a trip to the store until dinner at 4:45pm.
-Dinner is big for these growing babies. They eat a meat or vegetable, yogurt, another cheese, and either crackers or toast.
*Into the kitchen sink they go for bath time around 5:30pm. I bathe them one at a time while the other is entertained in the high chair. Dinner is also getting started-serious multitasking for mom during the next hour!

*Daddy gets home just as they are getting in their jammies at about 6:00pm. How excited they get when they see him coming down the stairs to play-another tender moment for mom to witness.
*While the family eats dinner, Roman and Capri are being entertained by each other or "Baby Signing Time."
*Playtime until bottles are given while they lounge in their chairs (see video below) around 7:00pm.
*Bedtime is soon after-WHEW, we made it!
That was a bit long, sorry about that! I wanted to document such a busy schedule for these busy babies-all of that playtime and eating can be exhausting for them and their mom. :)

This past week has been a bit rough considering I had two babies sick with colds and ear infections. Roman came down with a cold on Saturday, took him to the doctor's on Monday (let me tell you how fun it is taking two babies to the office in pouring rain!), put him on antibiotics that night, and he was better by Saturday. Capri was as healthy as can be until she caught the bug on Thursday, we took her to the doctor's on Saturday (so my hubby could help!), had her on antibiotics that night, and is feeling great now. Hooray! Two babies back to their normal, healthy, happy selves. We will see how long that lasts!
There is a point to this post and I will get to it right now. Since the twins have not been feeling great, we have been searching for ways to keep them distractedfrom the snots, aches and coughing. Baby Signing Time works wonders, but something came in the mail that added the perfect touch-our new Anywhere Chairs from Grammy! They were sent for their birthday, but I was desperate and thought it would be fun to let them play with the boxes. They did love playing with these enormous boxes that both could sit in, but then I got too anxious to see the chairs. I had to put them together now that I could see how cute the covers were. I went ahead and as soon as I put them on the floor, Roman and Capri were all over them-they loved their new chairs! They knew the chairs were just for them and they even had their names on them. So, playing and lounging all week. Here are a couple of pictures and a little video to show them off!

Even when they are miserable, this dog that their yia-yia gave them will cheer them up!

All better. :)

Now for the lounging...
