Labor Day Weekend

When Labor Day weekend was coming up, we decided to make a final trip to St. George. It was So. Much. Fun. We switched it up this time by staying with our friends, the Ross', at their grandparent's place, along with the Fords. My parents, Richard and Elizabeth were all down as well staying at my parents condo. We spent a lot of time together swimming, hiking, hanging out, and taking awkward family photos. What a great group!
The first day we swam at the Ross' pool. There was a pond surrounding the pool and the kids loved watching the ducks. Especially Koko and Sara...
There was a hot tub inside and my kids are obsessed! It's St. George for heaven's sake-plenty warm outside! But, the warm water called them in for a few minutes before they were out and at it again in the pool...

We spent another afternoon at the Main Street Splash Park. The only thing that would make this even more fun for my kids is to have buddies with them.
These two were so cute and finding leaves to float down the stream...

Danny is a year older than the twins but he plays so well with them. Roman was having the time of his life as they ran hand in hand up and down the stream...and pushing out everyone in their way. Boys will be boys??
It was 97 degrees but that didn't stop us from taking a bit of a hike. You can't even call it a hike if you are above the age of 5, but my kids thought it was a perfect little stroll! We first went up to the Dixie Rock. The kids were great until we got to the top-Capri and Koko were not too excited about going anywhere near the edge, like 20 feet from the edge. That's ok, they were such troopers nonetheless.

We also hiked the Crack and I couldn't believe that Capri and Roman wanted to do it! I was so proud of them!! Tucker stayed with Karoline so I could take Capri. Cheri lead the way with all of the little boys-what an awesome aunt. :) We were laughing along the way as people would get stuck, including my dad. He has done it before, but he really got stuck this time, had to pull out some awesome moves to get unstuck, and turned around. It was pretty funny...for the rest of us.
We swam some more at my parents condo and yet it was not your ordinary swimming day. We pulled out the cheer stunts and launched all the little boys flying into the air. It was awesome. Cheri and Elizabeth showed us they still had it as well and the kids loved it!
Here is Roman...
Such a fun trip to end the summer. We can't wait til next spring to do it all over again!

Going to the Chapel...

I never had a little sister. I wanted one badly, but even after praying for a baby sister, we got Jon. It was ok, however, because I had the cutest little girl cousins ever. Katee, Lauren, Alexa, Makenzie, and sometimes Christine (from my Dad's side of the family), were my little girls to dress up, dance with, and put on programs with. They were always so willing to do as I asked and I loved every minute of it. Well, now they aren't so little anymore. Christine got married a few years ago, and this past summer, Katee, Lauren and Alexa got married. We had so much fun with all of the wedding planning, showers, and celebrating! I feel awful that I didn't get pictures at any of them other than Katee's, but one is better than none...
Waiting for Katee and Kyle to come out of the temple, my kids explored the beautiful grounds and flowers.  I took advantage of the moment and took a few pictures...
Capri was practicing cartwheels (her new obsession), and ballet arabesques. I made her stop for just a second...
Roman was such a trooper for some reason. Usually he hates getting his picture taken, but this is one of my favorites!
Karoline had Shirley Temple hair that day! I put sponge curlers in the night before and her hair curled amazingly well...almost too well. We tried our best to relax the curls a bit, but she looked so cute nonetheless!
My mom and dad helped me out because Tucker had to go back to work.  Capri was more than happy to stop to get a picture with Grandma, one of her favorite people in the world.
Koko was in heaven with the countless flowers and open green lawn...
And here is the beautiful couple! Katee looked absolutely gorgeous and her dress was absolutely amazing. They went to kiss...
And Roman did this...
He really didn't want to see them kiss! He said EEWWW and turned around. I was dying!
Here is Cheri and I-we were totally matching!
The wedding reception was held at Julie's house and it was incredible. It was truly a dream wedding. White tables and chairs, dance floor, bistro lights, hanging lanterns, trees covered in white lights, a 5 tier cake, and lots and lots of dancing. Loved. It.
How cute is Cheri and her darling little London:
And let the dancing begin! Karoline was definitely a hit at this party as she danced her little heart out.
They had a great buffet but Roman's favorite part was the ice cream bar. Look how handsome this boy is!
Here are some videos to show my kids ripping it up on the dance floor! The first shows Karoline and I have to mention the fact that the man she was dancing with towards the end of the video was a big guy with long hair and a long white beard. No judgements there!
