Easter Egg Hunt and Dyeing Eggs

Easter Sunday was going to be incredibly busy with Jon's Homecoming, so we held our annual easter egg hunt on Saturday instead. Rob and Jesse's kids came which made the day for Roman and Capri. They couldn't wait to find the eggs that the Easter Bunny had hid for them and were so excited to find them with their cousins. These are the moments that make you appreciate being a mother even more. We didn't want to spoil the surprise of their real baskets so we handed them a garbage sack and let them go wild finding the billion eggs throughout the house.
The kids were so happy about the day's upcoming festivities, they were willing to take a picture for me-hooray!Here is Eli, Kaleb, Capri, Roman and Spencer ready and waiting...
"Pink! My favorite color!"
"Mommy! There are treats in them!"
When we were done finding eggs, and eating a few treats, we decided to get out the egg dye. I love that my kids are old enough to do this by themselves. Of course I love to help, but they are thrilled to create their egg masterpieces on their own.
Capri posing with her blank canvas eggs...and the pink dye nearby:
Roman with the blue, of course:
Baby London joined in the fun as well and I can't get enough of her! Just look at those cheeks!
Eli and Spencer were very particular about their eggs and they turned out awesome. Kaleb, Roman and Capri-they were just happy to be dunking the eggs over and over again:
Love that Jon is home and I still can't believe how tall he is!
Having fun with my kiddos. Really, it's what all of these traditions are about, having some good quality time as a family. :)
