The Pool...

This is where we spent a majority of our trip:A little piece of heaven, right? I could live here, literally...just set up a tent right behind those lounge chairs in the back on the lawn. I would be happy and my kids would be even happier.
My kids have always loved playing in the water be it a pool, splash park or tub. However, I noticed that it took Roman and Capri all summer of last year to get used to the water enough to want to go under. I knew we would have to start the process over come this summer unless I put them back in swimming lessons. I figured we should get a head start on them since we had this trip planned and I couldn't be more thrilled of the payoff. Ladies and gentlemen, Roman and Capri have turned into fish! They spent more time under the water than above! Though they had been fearful about things during their lessons, both of these kids couldn't wait to practice their new skills.
I couldn't believe it when Capri asked me to practice her floats, her least favorite thing-and she asked every day we were there!
Roman wouldn't sit steal for me to get a decent picture-he was having way too much fun swimming as fast as his little body would let him!
Karoline is definitely a water baby! Her favorite thing to do was to stand on the stair, drop the diving toy down to the next stair, reach down into the water to grab it, and start the game over. She also loved the hot tub (and don't worry, it wasn't too hot!):Roman loved this penguin diver toy and we probably got a good 5 hours of use out of it before we had to leave. He would watch it dive down and then he would (with serious determination, mind you) dive down to find it!
I finally got him to hold still...once we were out of the water:Here is my Capri with her new favorite accessory, her goggles. She was invincible with these things on and loved diving for her princesses in them:
The girls having a ball. Karoline was pretty good to stay in her floater, especially when the kids would push her around.
All dried off and ready for lunch poolside-nothing like PB&J's, veggies, and a refreshing Diet Coke (or water if you are underage) after a long swim.

SO fun! I have to say, after reading your blog, I craved pb and honey and a diet coke today!!! That was our lunch we packed at the zoo and we ate it by the splash pad...not exactly Hawaii or a tropical pool but it reminded me of you!
